We take care to ensure that any materials and information on this site are accurate, relevant and up to date but this site is intended primarily to provide guidance to members of ICS, other UK healthcare professionals & anyone with an interest in critical care medicine who have registered with ICS for online services only. Members of ICS [and others who register with ICS for online services] will be issued with such passwords and other identifiers as we deem appropriate and which we may alter from time to time on reasonable notice. Any password is issued to the applicant only and is not transferable and must be kept confidential. You will indemnify us against any unauthorised use of a password by any third party. You must not permit any unauthorised third party to use the services provided on this site on your behalf. All equipment, which is used to access any online service, must be of the type which can be lawfully connected in the UK to the public switch telephone exchange system. You are wholly responsible for the operation and condition of such equipment, your user software and Internet connections. We respect the privacy of users of this website. If you provide us with any information about yourself we will keep it confidential and use it only for the purposes as specified. We may use it to contact you by e-mail or by post to send you details about the Society and its activities, other organisations the Society works closely with or promotional information from other organisations carefully assessed by members of the Society's Executive Committee we believe may be of interest to you. Sensitive Personal Data

We may, on occassions, need to to collect sensitive personal data through this site. This will relate to any disability which may affect your access to Venues when attending the Society's Meetings, Workshops, Functions etc. The information will be used to comply with matters relating to health and safety and your comfort when attending such Events. If we do seek to collect such data, we will ask for your explicit consent to our proposed uses of the data. ICS Standards and Guidelines

Neither the Intensive Care Society nor the authors accept any responsibility for any loss or damage arising from actions or decisions based on the information contained within these publications. Ultimate responsibility for the treatment of patients and interpretation of the published material lies with the medical practitioner. The opinions expressed are those of the authors and the inclusion of this publication of material relating to a particular product or method does not amount to an endorsement of its value, quality, or the claims made by its manufacturer.

On-line Abstract Submissions

By submitting data: you may be contacted by ICS representatives in relation to your abstract submission by personal email, post, telephone or fax, you give permission to ICS to process your data in terms of the abstract submission process, published either as hard copy or electronically by the Society in its Abstract Publication / CD and submitted to BMJ Books if requesting publication, you are confirming that the data you are submitting is original data and has not been pirated from any other source. You may be held responsible for copyright infringement if ICS discovers that you have submitted data copyrighted by someone else (this includes any graphics or text files not properly referenced).

Forum

ICS is not responsible for any material posted on any Discussion Forum ("Forum"). In particular, without limitation, ICS has no responsibility for any advice or information posted by any user of a Forum or for any reliance placed on that advice or information. You shall not upload, transmit, distribute or otherwise publish through these Forum any materials which: (a) libels, defames, or is obscene, pornographic, abusive or threatening; (b) infringes the intellectual property rights of any other person including (without limitation) infringing any person's copyright or trademark; (c) is illegal; (d) advocates illegal activity; (e) advertises or solicits funds or is a solicitation for or offer to supply goods or services unless approved by us (together "Non-Approved Items").
