Successful Final Accreditation Decision - NICE
We are pleased to announce the following successful final Accreditation decision;
1. Government of Western Australia – Department of Health for the processes used to develop their diagnostic imaging pathways. The final Accreditation report for this decision can be found from this page.
Government of Western Australia – Department of Health is another example of a guidance producer who has worked on their development process, with the accreditation team, to attain accreditation, benefiting from the independent review and taking the opportunity to update and improve processes.
They can now display the Accreditation Mark on all their relevant guidelines produced to this accredited process, and also their website and other materials. Another distinct benefit of Accreditation is the potential for your guidance to be used as an evidence base for NICE quality standards topics that are being developed.
The total number of processes now accredited is 39 and a further 6 applications are currently going through our assessment process. For a full list of accredited organisations or to find out further information on Accreditation please visit our website.
Attending workshops and committee meetings:
The next Accreditation workshops are; 7 August (Manchester) and 16 October (London). Spaces are still available at these sessions. The next Accreditation Advisory committee meetings are; 12 July (Manchester) and 5 September (London).
Most of the Accredited guidance producers have attended a workshop or observed a committee meeting and found these very useful in understanding the accreditation process and criteria and determining their readiness to apply.
Please let us know if you would like to attend any of these events.
Process changes:
• From November 2011, the public consultation period has been removed for all positive Accreditation decisions.
• The accreditation term has increased from 3 to 5 years.
• Guidance Producers whose content is gated are eligible to apply for accreditation
