Three Peaks Challenge 21st-23rd June 2011
Date: 21 to 23 June 2011
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
Climb mainland Britains three highest mountains within 24 hours. Start from Fort William in the early evening. Climb Ben Nevis (4409 ft) then transfer to the Lake District to conquer Scafell Pike (3162 ft), and thence to Wales to Climb Snowdon (3560 ft).
This is a serious undertaking and a high level of fitness together with previous hill walking experience is essential. You will be climbing and descending over 10,000 feet in 24 hours, walking approximately 25 miles often over rough ground in the dark, trying to sleep sitting upright in a minibus, eating at strange times, and experiencing everything the British weather can throw at us.
Many thanks to Sean Bennett, Miriam Bennett and Ryan Mullally who have already signed up.
There are still places available so please contact the ICS office if you are interested.
