The Journal of the Intensive Care Society is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief to take over from Jonathan Handy as he steps down at the end of this year. Under Jonathan’s leadership the journal has flourished and we are looking for a candidate to continue this momentum.
The Editor-in-Chief is pivotal to the continued development, strategy and day to day management of the journal, therefore experience in academic editing, publication and reviewing is essential.
The position requires an average of 6 - 8 hours per week (almost entirely web-based), and attendance at a minimum of two formal ICS council meetings per year. Strong editorial support is provided through the JICS Editorial Board and administration is provided by the ICS Secretariat.
JICS is integral to our Society, providing a significant and important benefit to our members as well as the wider intensive care community. This is a great opportunity to take the helm of the UK’s leading intensive care journal.
Interested applicants should read the documents below for further information. To apply please send a two page CV highlighting relevant experience together with a cover letter indicating how the Journal would continue to develop under their leadership.
