The Society was established to advance and promote the care and safety of critically ill patients, by the advancement and promotion of those branches of medical science concerned with critical care, and teh promotion of study and research into critical care and the publication of the useful results of such study and research

Guidelines, Standards and Resources

Accreditation: We run FICE and CUSIC, two high-quality programmes offering training in focused transthoracic echo (FICE) and ultrasound for intensive care (CUSIC). The accreditation is endorsed by the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and the Royal College of Radiologists.​ We also sit on the BSE (British Society of Echocardiography) accreditation committee - see more on their website.
